I am currently an MD/PhD student just beginning my graduate work in the Medical Neurobiology program. My research interests are centered around determining the role that craving plays in the development and maintenance of alcoholism. I am working in Dr. Dena Davidson’s lab at Methodist Hospital utilizing the cue-availability paradigm to examine the interaction between visual alcohol cues and drinking behavior in social drinkers. IU has provided me with an excellent opportunity to pursue both a career in clinical medicine as well as research, and I feel fortunate to be a part of a department that has so many strengths and such a distinguished reputation in the field of alcohol research. I hope to one day establish a clinical career as a Psychiatrist as well as perform research that is informed by my experience in the clinic and that will ultimately improve my ability to treat patients.
