The lab researches the central autonomic pathways involved in stress and fever.  More specifically, the focus is on identifying and examining the efferent and afferent pathways of hypothalamic nuclei known to be involved in temperature and cardiovascular regulation. My interest is in investigating the central autonomic pathways involved in the progression of heart failure secondary to myocardial infarction. The lab employs conscious whole-animal experimentation, microinjection techniques, and immunohistochemistry.
