My research interests involve the mechanisms behind mood disorders and the role of glia thereof. I am in Dr. Anantha Shekhar’s research group and was attracted to this group for the same reasons I was attracted to the Medical Neurobiology program at IUSM. I have access to different disciplines such as neuroanatomy, behavior, molecular neurobiology, neuropharmacology, neurochemistry, and electrophysiology and can intercalate these different areas as I shape the foundation I will need to contribute further to the understanding of these illnesses.
