Although it’s cold and snowy outside, before you know it, April 18th will be here and the IUPUI campus will be awash in balmy temperatures and a veritable sea of pink boas, t-shirts, and hats. Here in the Psychology Department, we have both personal and professional reasons to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the Race for the Cure. For example, Dr. Silvia Bigatti and her students conduct research in the area of heath psychology, with a particular focus on the coping behaviors of family members who have a loved one that is battling breast cancer. If you’re a runner or a walker, please join the Department of Psychology team on the morning of April 18th. If you’re not – you can actually ‘sleep in for the cure’ instead. Registration is easy, and everything's online.
Go to http://rfci.convio.net/site/TR?pg=entry&fr_id=1060 and click the "join an existing team" button (right hand side of screen). Type in (or search for) IUPUI-Department of Psychology, and follow the online instructions. (You'll need a credit card, but for $23 you get 2 t-shirts, loads of free stuff, and lovely memories of trotting through campus and the White River Park on a [hopefully] sunny spring morning.) Deadline: March 20th.
Last year we had over 70 participants. We hope to see you on the 18th! |
