November 28, 2007

1.  Call to order:  Meeting called to order at 2:00 pm.  Guests were introduced.

 

2.  Minutes of September 26, 2007 meeting were approved with one correction.

 

Nancy introduced the guest Speaker Pat Steele.  Pat’s speech was on “What It Means to Be an IU Librarian.”  She touched on the many changes that are taking place in the traditional role of librarians and the university and how we confront and adapt to these changes.  Following her presentation there was discussion on IU librarians - the interactions of librarians on various campuses with each other, professional standards for all IU librarians, and how we utilize or modify the present organizational structure to maintain professional standards for IU Librarians systemwide.  The role of the IULFC was a major part of the discussion.

 

 The meeting was adjourned at 3:25 pm.
