Medical library faculty has reorganized, implementing an administrative team beginning in July:  Rick Ralston – infrastructure; Elaine Skopelja – library faculty; Jim Morgan – educational technology representative.

Law Library

The Law School is considering key card access for the building – 8:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. evenings and weekends.  May be implemented this fall.  The reference module is operational, allowing Law Library to generate reports on circulation, reference statistics, and faculty requests.  Miriam Murphy reported on the completion of the pro se task force (Law Library and other Indianapolis law libraries) brochure for public patrons.  IMCPL got most of the 15,000 copies, but brochures are available if any university libraries are interested.

University Library

David reported that the base budget was cut by $96,000, with $50,000 coming out of the materials budget.  University Library continues to develop the information commons; 20-30 additional workstations will be installed.  David reported that he and Julie will be involved in aWest Kenya project, one of the major international strategic partnerships for the campus.

Dentistry Library

Dentistry Library will be closed May 30 through about July 10 for structural facility repairs and replacement of carpeting.  Librarians will not be able to provide service from the book collection but will try to provide service from the journal collection.  Only access is to basement area, so essentially the staff will be unreachable during this time.
