Open WorldCat – a collection development tool is being developed. This feature allows libraries to hook up with local institutions, like the Eitlejorg. Any library with FirstSearch can use this. This was suggested as a possible topic for the next meeting or a Library Faculty program. Colette Mak is the INCOLSA specialist.

On March 16, 1:30-3:00 p.m., there is a national satellite webcast on Digital Libraries through the American Distance Education Consortium at Washington State University. David Lewis will pay for streaming video for participants ($250).

Individuals were asked to update any incorrect information on the Library Faculty Committee assignments.

Librarians Day is April 22, 2005 at IUSE in New Albany. Hannalore Rader will speak.

Law Library—Judith Anspach

Dragomir Cosanici and Chris Long’s article will be published in volume 24 of Legal Reference Services Quarterly. A new title is being sought for the “Pro Se Task Force” (Miriam) group – something like Indy Legal Information Gateway? Indianapolis will host the Ohio Regional Association of Law Libraries in October 2005 jointly with Chicago and Wisconsin law librarians. The Law Library welcomes Wanda Lipscomb-Vasquez as Senior Serials Assistant. SLIS graduate and former Law Library intern Ryan Schwier has applied to the law school. The Library now has a second intern, Donna Close.

Medical Library—Elaine Skopelja

Elaine provided details on the new card access program at the Medical Library which goes into effect on April 1, 2005. After 5:00 p.m. the Library is card accessible only. The interim procedure was distributed. Peggy Richwine has received Indianapolis Foundation funding for a local project. Six part-time people have been hired to enter data (retired library staff or SLIS students). They will be trained and then work at home.
