Meeting Minutes
February 21, 1996
The meeting was called to order at 9:05 am with Kellie Kaneshiro
presiding. Kellie mentioned that we did not have a quorum.
Attending:
Barclay, Brahmi, Browning, Crumrin, Eckerman, Goodwin,
Harmon, Hay, Hook, Hoyt, Jafari, Johnting, Kaneshiro, London, Long,
McDonald, Morgan, Nissen, Parsons, Ralston, Shin, Tompkins,
Yegerlehner
Meeting minutes from the November meeting were approved.
DIRECTOR'S REPORTS
University Libraries:
Budget presentation was successful; the IUPUI
University Library continues to work on the Horizon implementation.
Medical Library:
Medical Library is being reviewed by the School of
Medicine as part of a departmental review; Jim has made a proposal
for electronic journals as part of the Strategic Directions
Initiative; the library is waiting to hear if they have been selected
for the Greater Midwest Region of the National Network of Libraries of
Medicine.
Law Library:
ABA accreditation will be next month.
Dental Library:
A search and screen committee has been established
for the new dean.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee consists of Allan Barclay, Robin Crumrin and
Chris Long (chair). Chris asked that nominations for new committee
members be sent to him via the form he passed out.
Bylaws Committee
Shirley Yegerlehner passed out a copy of the Bylaws of the IUPUI
Library Faculty. She asked that any typos or problems be reported to
her.
Standards Committee
Nothing to report
IULFC Representative
IULFC will be meeting on February 29, 1996. There is concern that
the council is starting too late to get anything done. These issues
will be addressed at the next meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
The letter to Chancellor Bepko has been sent. We are awaiting
feedback. There is continued interest in the Metropolitan Affairs
Committee, a cooperative activity with libraries and newspapers.
NEW BUSINESS
none
The next meeting will be Wednesday, April 17 from 9 to 11 am at the
Law School (LS225). The meeting was adjourned at 10:50 am.
