Frequently Asked Questions-Passport
Passport is a coordinated program between Ivy Tech Community College-Central Indiana and Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). Passport strives to increase course and degree articulations between institutions, maintains advising offices at both campuses, offers cooperative student services, facilitates shared access to student records, offers IUPUI Passport scholarships and promotes student life programs. The goal of the Passport office is to make the transfer of credit and/or degrees between the two institutions as seamless as possible.
Check the Passport website for course and degree articulations. Visit the Passport Advising Office at Ivy Tech located in the Student Services area and speak with an advisor or call 921-4623 and make an appointment. IUPUI students should check with their departmental advisor.
IUPUI will accept the course and give undistributed credit. Each department determines if or how this course will be used. DO NOT assume undistributed credit will automatically transfer to your degree.
You will need to complete a Guest Student Application and meet with your academic advisor at IUPUI. You advisor will approve the course you want to take and that it transfers into your degree of study at IUPUI. .
You must submit an official Ivy Tech transcript to IUPUI once all final grades have been posted. You must request an official transcript from the Office of the Registrar at the North Meredian or Lawrence campuses and either mail or hand deliver the official Ivy Tech transcript. You must earn a grade of "C" or better for IUPUI to consider transferring credit. Also, you may be assessed a nominal fee to request the transcript.
The credits transfer but the grade does not.
Yes, however in order to replace your original failing grade, you must follow the course repeat policy at your Institution.
Refer to the Passport Consortium Agreement. Follow the instructions on the agreement and submit the completed form to the Financial Aid Office at your HOME institution.
