Our facilities are available for rental when academic, athletic, recreational or intramural events are not scheduled. Please fill out facility rental form above and turn in to PE 043. You can contact us to check for availability by calling (317) 274-0613 or fill out the rental request form (PDF).

Instructional Fields
Available as weather permits. Users must enter through tunnel at west end of P.E. Building, and walk around Instructional Field during classes. Outdoor fields must be reserved in advance by calling (317) 274-2824.

School of Physical Education & Tourism Management and IU Natatorium

IUPUI School of Physical Education and Tourism Management and the IU Natatorium, opened in 1982. The cost of 21.5 million dollars ($13 million private gifts, $7 million Indiana University, and $1.5 million Economic Development Administration grant).

The entire complex is 220,000 gross square feet; School of Physical Education and Tourism Management portion is 68,000 square feet. The entire building is 525 feet and the height is 90 feet (from pool deck to ceiling).

The Building

At deck level (Lower Level):

  • Three pools: two 50 meter pools (competition and instructional) and one diving pool

  • Three weight rooms: PE014 weight room, PE015 Fitness Center and Natatorium Fitness Center

Concourse Level (1st Floor)

  • Main Gymnasium (PE 150) is adaptable to three practice courts or one competition court.
  • Auxiliary Gymnasium (PE 156) has a mirrored wall and barre for dance classes.

Bridge Level

  • Administrative faculty offices
  • An enclosed overhead pedestrian walkway (affectionately known as the "gerbil walkway") connecting the building with the Education/Social Work Building across New York Street.
  • Natatorium Administrative Offices (South end)

IU Michael A. Carrol Track & Soccer Stadium

School of Physical Education & Tourism Management Athletic Fields

  • Located east and west sides of the IU Michael A Carrol Track & Soccer Stadium and just west of the Physical Education and Tourism Management and the IU Natatorium building.
  • Three fast pitch softball fields are located to the west of the Track & Soccer Stadium.
  • One instructional field located to the east of the west of the Track & Soccer Stadium is for instructional classes, intramural and recreational programming and intercollegiate purposes.
