Welcome to the Office of Access & Achievement Website!

Vision Statement
The Office for Diversity Access and Achievement (ODAA) will serve as a leader in the successful recruitment, retention, and graduation of undergraduate students from traditionally underrepresented ethnic backgrounds at IUPUI.  This will be achieved through campus initiatives, community collaborations and creative programming that emphasize the use of a cultural and ethnic diversity lens to empower and engage students while preparing them to pursue and succeed in higher education.

Mission Statement
Keeping with IUPUI’s commitment to education, cultural development, civic engagement and access for all, the Office for Diversity Access and Achievement (ODAA) will implement and partner with other entities both on and off campus to provide programs and services that are designed to:

  • Develop a strong pipeline of high school students who are prepared for the rigors of university work.
  • Recruit and enroll ethnically diverse students from academic backgrounds that meet the institutional profile.
  • Educate and assist ethnic minority students and their families on the transition to the collegiate experience on this urban campus.
  • Prepare and support ethnic minority students for successful adaptation and academic success that leads to a baccalaureate degree.

By focusing on these specific functions and populations, we seek to:

  • Increase the yield rate of minority students who have been accepted for admission to IUPUI and who enroll.
  • Assist in the retention of minority students by creating a sense of collegiate success throughout the enrollment process.
  • Developing pipeline programming that helps to prepare students from underserved backgrounds for future enrollment.
