Red Ribbon/Lights On Event 2005
The event is a collaboration of the United We Stand Coalition, a community group of over thirty partners in the central Indiana Area, and the Office of the Mayor, Indy Parks, and the Indianapolis Public Schools Drug Education Office. The event is the local celebration of two national events, one for anti drug efforts and the other for after school activities. This is the first year that the two events have been combined. This has been done to bring more resources and media attention to the two significant areas of youth concern and awareness in our state.

Activities Fall Semester 2005
We had 35 student volunteers from various schools/departments at IUPUI help us educate children on the dangers and consequences of substance use and teach strategies to deal with peer pressure and reject drugs. Next to participating in the Red Ribbon/Lights On Event 2005, we taught ASAP sessions in five IPS schools, reaching approximately 220 children.
Help us to be even more successful. Volunteer! We are always looking for individuals who want to be part of a teaching team on substance abuse prevention to kids grades 5-7.
