Informatics Women's Organization

Women Helping Women Through Technology

Bringing together the academic world
and the business sector
to reach the common goal of
promoting women
in the many fields of technology.

Looking to the future!

Another semester has concluded here at IUPUI. Graduation is over and the Informatics Women's Organization is now looking toward the Fall of 2005. IWO would like to thank Barbara Howrey, Alexandra Slash, and Laura Anderson for their dedicated service over the last two years as founders and members of the Executive Board of IWO. Barbara and Alexandra have both graduated and Laura has completed her sophmore year in the School of Informatics. Good luck to these dynamic women as they pursue their futures in Informatics.

A lot has been accomplished over the last two years. IWO has sponsored two half day conferences on topics about women's role in technology along with a full day conference on "Real Life: 101 Preparing for Life after College" In addition, IWO has conducted two workshops to help students learn how to organize a website and the basics of Dreamweaver.

At this time, IWO is taking a break for the summer and hopefully will resume this fall. A new Executive Board is needed in order for IWO to continue. If you are interested in continuing the Informatics Women's Organization, please contact Sara Hook, IWO Academic Advisor.
