Information on James Brown's school bullying study:
Parents Who Reported Middle School Bullying: A Dissertation Study
Early adolescence is sometimes referred to as the brutalizing period. However, it can be tough for parents to negotiate as well. For instance, when a parent does learn their middle school child is being harmed by a bully, a school principal or other school official might be used as a strategy to get the bullying to stop. Currently, there is a gap in understanding what occurs when parents make the decision to report. This study is looking for parents who have reported to a middle school official that their child is being bullied. Brown would like to interview parents in order to understand what they are experiencing.
