Centennial Vision and Mission

Mission Statement for IUSSW Centennial Steering Committee

The mission of the IUSSW Centennial Steering committee is to provide an opportunity for the community (student body, faculty, staff, alumni and community representatives) to commemorate the unique, diverse history of the IU School of Social Work throughout Indiana while celebrating our current achievements and providing a glimpse into our promising future.

Vision for the IUSSW Centennial Steering Committee

To ensure our lasting legacy and to gain a deeper appreciation of the social work profession, we will provide opportunities for our constituency to share in identifying, planning, marketing, and implementing IUSSW Centennial activities and initiatives across all campuses. This will be accomplished through the committee's strategic goals and objectives.

Strategic Objectives

The IUSSW Centennial Steering Committee will pursue 6 key objectives that reflect its mission and vision and will develop implementation strategies (see project plan) for each that will drive the project development and delivery.

•  Create an awareness of what it means to be a part of the IU School of Social Work community.

•  Educate our constituency about IUSSW contributions (past, present, and future) to the field of social work. Provide acknowledgement and appreciation to contributors.

•  Provide a collaborative approach that will promote community-wide involvement across the state in support of the Centennial projects and initiatives.

•  Capitalize on our combined skills opportunities to leverage resources and to maximize marketing and promotional initiatives on all campuses.

•  E stablish funding for the development of marketing and promotional initiatives that are educational, entertaining, and inspirational. These initiatives will not only preserve our heritage but will provide a spring-board for future IUSSW initiatives.
