By Jim Bennett
The dates are finalized
for those students planning to take RHI 291/L291 during the
first summer session. Lecture time will be on Monday and Wednesday
from 5:30 -10:00 p.m. on the following dates: May 6, 8, 13,
15, 20, and 22. Please note that the summer session for the
university does not begin until May 8, however the department
is permitted to begin classes before that time.
There will be two sessions at Camp Brosius: May
23 - May 30 and May 30 - June 7. Students are expected to
attend camp for the entire period for which they register.
Each person will provide their own transportation; car-pooling
is encouraged.
Students registering for the class will receive
an information sheet as the many details become finalized.
Dean Nick Kellum will attend the first class session on May
6 to provide information and answer any question concerning
our involvement at camp.
In accordance with department
policy, students planning to enroll in the couse must have
completed RI-Il 191 (Sanitation) or FN 203 (Food Preparation).
As enrollment will be limited to fifteen students for each
camp week, these pre-requisites must be followed. Although
preference will be given to those students scheduled to graduate
in August or December, please do not feel that all spaces
are “locked-up”; those meeting the aforementioned
pre-requisites are encouraged to register for the course.
Last year’s camp
experience was rewarding and fun, and we look forward to a
similar time this summer!
