Pilot Funding for Research Use of Indiana Biobank (IB) Samples - TBD

We anticipate a new RFA will be released for submission in the summer of 2014.

Pilot Funding for Research Use of Indiana Biobank (IB) Samples - 2013.11 (Closed)

Three projects were funded under this RFA.

Principal Investigator(s) Project Title Brief Description
Jamie Renbarger, M.D./ Mark Rigby, M.D. Genetic characterization of children enrolled to Indiana Biobank We propose to obtain aliquots of DNA from all pediatric specimens collected by IB to date in order to generate high throughput genomic data to further develop this valuable resource for all pediatric investigators.
Laura Haneline, M.D. Altered DNA Methylation in Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) Pregnancies Children born to mothers with diabetes have an increased risk of developing hypertension, obesity, and type 2 diabetes during childhood. Studies will use genomic DNA isolated from umbilical cord blood to test for DNA methylation differences in candidate genes.
Rolf Kreutz, M.D. Factor XIIIa Val34Leu polymorphism and risk of recurrent myocardial infarction We will study the risk of recurrent myocardial infarction or death associated with the FXIIIa Val34Leu polymorphism.
