Learning Theory Module Preassessment

Based on your education, your experiences as a learner, and your teaching experience, you very likely have formed some ideas about how people learn. Before you go through this module, take a few minutes to think about your own personal "learning theory." Consider these questions:

Think of a situation where you needed to learn something new. How did you go about learning what you needed to know?

When you are learning new material, what do you do to make it more likely that you will remember it?

What are some ideas about learning that you try to keep in mind when you are planning how to present course content to students?

What differences are there in how people learn?

Are there any differences in how freshmen versus seniors learn? If so, what are they?
