Model United Nations Security Council Conference
35th Annual Model UN — November 7-9, 2013

ICIP holds annual intercollegiate Model United Nations Security Council simulations. The conference will consist of 2 to 3 model Security Councils. Each council is made up of 15 countries or delegations. Each country/delegation consists of 1 or 2 students (preferably 2). University students will serve as chairpersons.
Participation is open to delegations from ICIP member and non-member schools. We also have available a copy of the rules of procedure.
Agenda topics for this year include: (1) political violence, use of illegal chemical weapons, and instability in Syria; (2) Israeli settlements on the West Bank; (3) organized crime and human trafficking as a security issue; (4) the development of international legal standards for “drone” warfare, and (5) crisis in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, M23 rebels, and the role of Rwanda.
A block of rooms for the nights of Nov 7 and 8 are being held at the Holiday Inn Express in New Albany (5 minutes from campus) under Model UN. The cost is $89.95 per room. You need to make reservations by October 28. Call 812-945-2771 for reservations.
