New assistant dean for student development and academic affairs for University Graduate School

Tabitha Hardy

Tabitha M. Hardy has been named assistant dean for student development and academic affairs within the University Graduate School and the IUPUI Graduate Office.

Hardy is an alumna of IU and earned her Ph.D. from the IU School of Medicine. After completing a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, she held an appointment as an assistant professor of biology at Stillman College, a historically black college in Alabama. Hardy has a wealth of teaching experience and will also hold an appointment in the department of biology at IUPUI. She holds a Class AAAA teaching certificate in the state of Mississippi and holds certifications as fellow, practitioner and scholar in the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning. She also participated in the U.S. Navy–supported IU MSI STEM Initiative.

In her role as an assistant dean, Hardy will focus on developing programs for graduate and professional student success, academic affairs related to graduate programs, and the recruitment and retention of diverse students.
