This Barbara D. Jackson Lecture in Anthropology will be presented by Dr. Sabiyha Prince, a researcher from Washington, DC.
As the costs for housing and housing insecurity heighten, along with increasing demographic shifts and African American outmigration, Washington, DC residents are coming together to formulate strategies intended to protect communities and mitigate displacement. Based on participant observation and interview data, this presentation will explore the dynamics of both collective and individualized anti-gentrification ideas and actions in our nation’s capital.
Sponsored by the Department of Anthropology.
