The primary mission of IAHI is to:

1. Support individual faculty, groups, and interdisciplinary teams in their pursuit of research and creative activity in arts and humanities;
2. Be a campus-wide leader in facilitating and coordinating research and creative activity, including interdisciplinary initiatives;
3. Serve as a locus for the promotion and integration of innovative inquiry-based arts and humanities educational experiences into academic curricula across campus.
4. Serve as a liaison between IUPUI and the community in the development and advancement of arts and humanities endeavors.
