Distinguished Rev Allan Boesak, Anti-apartheid activist, leader of the World Alliance of Churches, patron of the United Democratic Front (UDF) in South Africa and theologian, accepted a four-year appointment as the newly established Desmond Tutu Chair of Peace, Global Justice, and Reconciliation Studies, held jointly at the Christian Theological Seminary and Butler University. Recipient of the Robert Kennedy Human Rights Award and the Martin Luther King Jr. Peace Award.
