PETER M. G. HARRIS

P. M. G. Harris, A.B. Harvard, Ph.D. Columbia (Sociology), now adjunct at I.U.P.U.I., is emeritus in the history department at Temple University, and before that taught and performed research in the social sciences at Harvard and Howard Universities. He has written two recent books on comparative population history and is currently completing the third volume of this long-term global study. He is the author of essays, articles, and working papers on social mobility in American history, religion and education in colonial New England, the development of pre-revolutionary Chesapeake society and economy, inflation in the Atlantic world in the 17th, 18th, and early 19th centuries, and the interaction of economic and demographic changes in England from the middle ages to the industrial era.
