IUPUI is Indiana's premier urban research university. The campus enrolls more than 30,000 students in 21 schools and academic units.
IUPUI is located immediately west of downtown Indianapolis, Indiana and offers over 70 graduate degrees in whole or in part to students interested in pursuing a Ph.D., a professional degree, or a master's degree. Several of these degrees are not offered by any other public institution in the state. A large portion of the over 70 degrees have site approval for Indianapolis; the other degree programs are offered in conjunction with departments or schools in Bloomington or West Lafayette.
About IUPUI
IUPUI confers both Indiana University and Purdue University graduate degrees. Many of the degrees can be obtained by taking all classes in Indianapolis. It may be necessary for some students to take classes in Bloomington or West Lafayette, so check with your advisor or department chair about the degree requirements of your program.
Graduate admissions at IUPUI are decentralized; therefore, you will need to contact the school or department in which you are interested for information on departmental admissions requirements and the application process.

Bridges to the Doctorate Program renewed by NIH for five years. The Bridges to the Doctorate program, under the leadership of Dr. Hal Broxmeyer, brings strong masters students from Jackson State University to IUPUI for summer research under the mentorship of faculty in the School of Medicine. The recently-approved 5-year renewal of this program expands the partnership to include California State University Dominguez Hills. The Graduate Office has facilitated the Bridges to the Doctorate program by financially covering summer housing for these students and by offering programming to enhance the ability of the students to succeed with strong applications to graduate school. In the first seven years of the program, seven Bridges students have entered PhD programs in the IU School of Medicine. The continuation and expansion of Bridges to the Doctorate promises continued gains in diversity within the PhD programs at IUPUI. http://grad.medicine.iu.edu/body.cfm?id=7355
School of Nursing receives significant funding for graduate student support. The School of Nursing has received an award from the Health Resources and Services Administration to help support students in the PhD program in Nursing Science. The award enhances the ability of the School of Nursing to create the next generation of nurse/researchers who will fill faculty positions throughout the state and the nation. The original award of $348,188 was supplemented with $295,175 in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding. In order to receive the total package, an institutional match of 1/9 was required; $30,000 of this match came from the Graduate Office at IUPUI, which offers matching funding for proposals supporting graduate education.
