What you can do to
support Geography Education in Indiana:
- Time and talent to
Indiana schools
- For example, geo-spatial technology specialists can visit classrooms to share their employment skills and knowledge which impact local, state, national and international issues.
- Giving to GENI to
support programming and professional development for Indiana K-12
educators
- All donations and registration fees
contribute to the GENI
Endowment to sustain this organizations work to help provide support
for geography education in
Indiana. Direct donations are tax deductible on federal tax returns.
- The IU Foundation enables you to donate in support of GENI and to receive a state tax credit, as well as a federal tax credit.

- In-kind
contributions
- Maps, globes, activity guides and other
classroom resource materials
- Materials for a designated school
- GENI can purchase geography education materials (maps, globes, atlases, videos, etc.) on your behalf for the school you designate
- Sponsor a professional development seminar with GENI education professionals providing a session based on your designated school's desired topic (funding used to cover presenter mileage and appropriate materials for teachers)
- Sponsor a Giant Traveling Map for your school/district of choice
- Your annual dues
contribute directly to the GENI Endowment and you receive educational
materials to help strengthen and expand geography in your existing
curriculum.
- Become
an active
GENI Board Member or GENI Committee Member and volunteer your time to
help plan, promote, and present geography programming.
