This calendar indicates the following important information:

  • WEEK OF: Tells you what week you should be completing the readings and Assessments
  • GOALS: Tells you which modules you should complete that week
  • DUE DATES: The last day Oncourse will permit you to take a test, quiz, or submit a homework assignment
  • TYPE: Tells you what type of Assessment you will be completing and where you can complete the assessment. Specific instructions for individual assessments are found in the modules.

You’ll note that all assessment due dates are at 11:59pm on Mondays . All dates are based on midnight "Indiana time"—Eastern Standard Time. Assessments are only open for a certain length of time:

  • Quizzes and exams (midterm and final) will open at noon on Thursday and close at 11:59pm on their Monday due date.
  • Homework and forums will have up to one week for completion. Homework and forums may be completed from the time they are posted until 11:59pm on their Monday due date.

As a general rule for all college courses, you should plan to spend an additional 3 hours of study time (outside of class time) for every one credit hour you are taking. That means, for a 3-credit course like this one, you should realistically plan to spend at least 9-12 hours per week reading, reviewing modules, and studying for and completing assessments. The course has been designed with these time constraints in mind.
