Great you made it to the Objective Page! Here, you’ll find a list of the learning objectives for each Module.  These are very important!  As your Syllabus explains, all of the questions in the test banks for each module quiz are built around the Objectives.  Focusing your studying on these Objectives will help you to prepare for the quizzes.

Environmental Unity

This Module will help you to first learn how to navigate the Module pages.  By completing this Module you will be able to:

  • identify and understand the course policies as outlined in the syllabus;
  • recognize how this online course functions and what you need to do to succeed in this course;  
  • identify the navigation of the course website; and
  • identify and be able to use key tools for success in this course.

This Module will also introduce you to several course concepts.  By working through the textbook readings and the Lecture in this Module, you will be able to:

  • name and describe the Five Fundamental concepts of the course;
  • know the history of population growth, future trends, and how population grows
  • explain the concept of sustainability in your own words;
  • explain how a system works and identify a stock, input, output, and residence time in a given example of a system;
  • state examples of Earth systems and describe interconnectedness between systems;
  • explain what an Earth hazard is; and
  • describe the case histories of Haiti, the Aral Sea, and Easter Island in the context of the Five Fundamental Concepts.

Before you move on, look below.  At the bottom of every Objective Page is a link to a downloadable Objective Guide. Print these out and fill them out as you go through the Modules.  These will help you to organize your notes according to the Objectives.
