Thank you for your interest in the Francophone Student Association at IUPUI. We are a nonprofit student student organization that welcomes all members of the IUPUI community to participate in our events, activities, and meetings! The Francophone Student Association (FSA), previously known as Le Cercle Français, has been active at IUPUI for many years. We acknowledge the history and utility of the French language and its ability to create common bonds among many different nationalities and cultures. Mission
The mission of the Francophone Student Association is to support the learning and use of the French language at IUPUI and to promote awareness and understanding of francophone cultures among the IUPUI community.
- The FSA supports the learning of the French language at IUPUI through providing interesting and accessible opportunities in which the IUPUI community can enhance and/or retain its knowledge of the French language.
- The FSA promotes awareness and understanding of francophone cultures among the IUPUI community through planning, hosting, or promoting activities/events within the IUPUI community that present accurate information about francophone cultures.

Officer Elections
Officer elections are held every April and all officers serve a one-year term beginning May 1st of each year. Election details will be posted at least two months before the election date. Both the FSA Constitution and By-laws provided detailed information regarding officers' duties.
Officer Qualifications:
To qualify for an officer position in the FSA, an FSA member may be from any school at IUPUI and should represent at least one of the following qualifications: 1) Currently completing a major in French, French Education, or a dual major that includes French; or 2) Currently completing a minor in French; or 3) be of francophone origin. In order to encourage academic achievement, officers shall be considered in “good academic standing” by IUPUI.
FSA Officer Descriptions
President: Provides leadership to all FSA members and acts as the official representative of the organization with Campus & Community Life, the School of Liberal Arts, the Department of World Languages and Cultures Program (the Program in French), and the general IUPUI community.
Vice President: Coordinates all activities, events, and resource development and acts in place of the president should the president be unavailable to perform her or his duties.
Treasurer: Coordinates all financial management of the organization and oversees the responsible use of the organization’s funds.
Secretary: Manages all non-financial documents and paperwork of the organization.
Public Relations (PR) Officer: Coordinates all official communications and marketing for the organization.
Website and Documentation Officer: Coordinates the FSA website.
Privacy Policy
It is the policy of the Francophone Student Association (FSA) at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) to securely guard the personal information of all members, including but not limited to student identification numbers, phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses, and grade reports. The FSA will not share, sell, or distribute the personal information of any general member except where obligated by IUPUI, a court of law, or as required in a police investigation. Information that is requested from general members will only be used for the purposes of the FSA and to verify conditions for membership. Hard copies of membership forms will be securely stored under lock and key and will only be accessible by FSA officers. Electronic files and information will be securely stored with the respective FSA officer.
