Financial Aid Services at IUPUI
The Office of Student Financial Aid Services administers Federal Title IV financial aid programs and State Student Assistance Commission of Indiana financial aid programs at IUPUI. Student eligibility is determined after our receipt of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid for the appropriate aid year. It is important for you to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the Priority Receipt Deadline of March 10 each year for maximum consider for all types of aid.
Undergraduates and Incoming Freshman
The types of financial aid available to incoming freshman and undergraduate students includes grants, loans, fee credits, federal work study and loans from Federal Title IV and/or State Student Assistance Commission of Indiana (SSACI) programs and scholarships from IUPUI.
Graduate Students
The types of financial aid available to graduate students include loans and federal work study from Federal Title IV programs and scholarships from IUPUI. A small number of graduate students qualify for fee credits from SSACI.
International Students
The types of financial aid available to international students are primarily scholarships and private loans. Federal Title IV aid programs and SSACI programs require applicants to be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen with a valid Social Security Number. If your visa status is F1 or F2 or J1 or J2, you are not eligible for federal student financial aid or SSACI programs. Transfer Students
Please refer to the appropriate section above in regard to types of financial aid. Additionally, transfer students must be attending IUPUI to earn a degree. If you are temporarily transferring to IUPUI to complete course work, please contact your home/degree granting school regarding your eligibility for financial aid.
