Cost of Attendance for the 2012-2013 Academic Year

Cost of Attendance (COA) is the Office of Student Financial Services estimate of your educational expenses for the academic year. Your financial need is determined by subtracting your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) from your COA. Based on your enrollment, you will be billed each semester by the Office of the Bursar for tuition and fees and, if applicable, for on-campus housing.

Costs such as books, off-campus housing, transportation, and miscellaneous personal expenses are estimated to establish your COA and to help you and your family plan for the overall cost of an IUPUI education.

Your COA includes the following categories:

Tuition and Fees

Tuition and fees amounts are based on an enrollment of 14 credit hours per semester.   However, the Office of the Bursar will calculate your actual tuition and fees based on the number of credits you enroll in for each semester.

Books and Supplies
Books and Supplies are estimated based on an average cost for textbooks and related supplies based on your enrollment.

Room and Board
Room and Board costs are estimated based on the housing option you reported on the FAFSA.

Transportation
Transportation is estimated based on U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics data.

        Personal/Miscellaneous
Miscellaneous costs are estimated based on your clothing, recreation, medical and dental costs, and         life insurance and health insurance.

Note: For students attending less than half-time (less than 6 hours for undergraduate students; less         than 4 hours for graduate students), your COA does not include Transportation, Room and Board, and         Miscellaneous expenses

The following are examples of the Cost of Attendance (COA) for the 2012-2013 Academic Year.  The displayed tuition and fees are based on 14 credit hours enrollment per semester in 2012-2013. Tuition and fee rates for 2012-2013 can be reviewed via the Bursar's IUPUI Tuition and Cost Estimator
