Professor Hook has developed a series of courses in the emerging area of legal informatics. These courses can be taken together as an area of specialization (cognate) for the undergraduate Informatics degree or as a free-standing certificate (approval in process).

International Projects

UAEHProfessor Hook is leading a microfinance project, funded by the Rotary Club of Indianapolis, to provide small loans to citizens in and around the city of Calnali, State of Hidalgo, Mexico. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Friends of Hidalgo. She is also developing courses in collaboration with colleagues at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo (UAEH) in Pachuca, State of Hidalgo, Mexico.

Sara Anne Hook is Professor of Informatics, Indiana University School of Informatics, IUPUI. She is also Adjunct Professor of Law, Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis, and Adjunct Professor of American Studies, School of Liberal Arts, IUPUI. Formerly, she was Head Librarian at the Indiana University School of Dentistry and Associate Dean of the Faculties for IUPUI.

Professor Hook is a member of: the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), Indiana State Bar Association (ISBA), International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) and American Association for State and Local History (AASLH). She is also a member of the Board of Governors of the Organization for Legal Professionals (OLP). She is also a book and manuscript reviewer for a number of professional journals.

Professor Hook plays a variety of musical instruments, including flute, viola and saxophone. She studies Baroque flute with Professor Barbara Kallaur of the Early Music Institute, Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University, and viola with Emily Ann Thompson. She is a deltiologist and a member of the Rotary Club of Indianapolis.
