Letter from the Program Director

Welcome to our combined medicine-pediatrics webpage. Residency is a critical step for your future medical career. At Indiana University, we strive to create an educational environment that is always evolving with the current climate. Our program offers a wonderful experience to motivated physicians. We are very proud of our graduates, who are skilled, empathetic, caring clinicians. They are well-prepared for the multiple opportunities that Med-Peds training offers, including primary care, hospitalist medicine, fellowship training, international health and academic medicine among others. |
Our Med-Peds program first started in 1982. Since then, we have graduated well over 150 residents. We have thrived as a large, clinically busy program designed with focused educational programs that complement the broad and diverse clinical experiences. Most of our faculty, residents and graduates feel that the multiple hospitals and patient care experiences are our greatest strength. Having the opportunity to care for different patient populations provides the breadth and depth necessary for Med-Peds training.
Our housestaff come from many different schools and backgrounds. They are highly skilled, work hard, and enjoy their work. The residents, faculty and staff share a collegial dedication to the care of our patients. Many of our graduates have enjoyed the Indianapolis location, and have chosen to stay in the area to practice after completion of residency. This allows many of our current residents the opportunity to work with them in community experiences.
I encourage you to read our webpage further. If you are interested in training in an environment with multiple hospitals with varying patient populations, unique faculty with various backgrounds, and residents from all over the country, please consider our program. Indiana University believes in and supports the concept of the Med-Peds physician; thank you for considering our program. I look forward to receiving your application.
