The Center for Service and Learning, through the Office of Service Learning, seeks to make service a distinctive part of the educational culture at IUPUI. Our staff assist faculty in developing, implementing, and improving service learning classes, which engage students in community service experiences as part of an academic course, enhance their learning through reflection activities, develop greater appreciation of the discipline, and promote civic responsibility. The OSL supports faculty by providing assistance and resources during course development (e.g. stipends, sample syllabi, reflection activities), and scholarship for student teaching assistants.
