Creating Zipped
Folders in My Computer
Description: Use file-compression software within Windows XP to
shrink files or folders. If you compress files to a smaller size, you can
send them over the Internet more quickly.
Tip: Place all files desired within a
folder before you compress it. Compressing a folder creates one file, which
holds the contents of the original folder, and has .zip as its file
extension. (Source is Microsoft Help in My Computer)

1. Open My Computer. 2. Select a folder. (In this example, we use
Acc proj 3.) 3. Right click on the
folder. 4.
From the pop-up menu, select Send To
and the Compressed (zipped) Folder. 5.
The zipped folder (Acc proj 3.zip) appears in the
folder. Note: The Acc
proj 3 folder has a size of
5.79 MB. The Acc proj3.zip file has
a size of 2.0 MB |
