General Information In your major and minor program of study, you can take courses that focus in many areas including:
Opportunities for multidisciplinary and independent study are available. The faculty brings a range of academic expertise and applied experiences with regional and national institutions and organizations. Graduates of the programs find careers in radio, television, public relations, advertising, marketing, sales, education, human resources, corporate training, video production, government agencies, personnel, organizational development, and other related areas. All of our programs have as their foundation an enduring respect for the traditional values of liberal education in the arts and sciences. We concentrate on developing students' abilities in critical thinking, analysis and interpretation of ideas and theories, competence in written and oral communication, and understanding of the cultural diversity that so enriches the human experience. |

Undergrad Advising Handbook (pdf) Use this handbook as a guide for the communication major requirements. It also details resources available and sample plans of study for various career paths. Undergraduate Major Checklist (pdf) Use this checklist to check off each course you take as a Communication Studies Major. It includes both the School of Liberal Arts Requirements and the Department of Communication Studies requirements. Undergraduate Minor Info Sheet(pdf) Are you interested in minoring in communication studies? This sheet offers a description of each minor program and the courses involved. Undergraduate Minor Approval Form (pdf) Once you have finished all the courses for your minor, please fill out this form and bring it to CA 309. The Lead Academic Advisor will review your transcript and approve it. Then the School of Liberal Arts Office of Student Affairs will have it added to your transcript.
