I am a recipient of the Journey Fellowship Explorers Internship and Scholarship. I am also a recipient of IUPUI’s Top Undergraduate Research Award. Currently, I am serving as president of Lambda Pi Eta as well as a member on IU School of Liberal Arts Diversity Council with Dean Robert White. I plan to graduate in May of 2008 with a lifetime goal of becoming founder of my future non-profit youth center.
Amber Jones (Candidate) - My major is Communication Studies; I have a double minor in African Americans Studies and Film Studies. I am currently a candidate for the Lambda Pi Eta and hope to become a full pledge member by fall of 2007. I aspire to one day become a filmmaker or have a career in the film industry. I will be attending the Los Angeles School for Film in Los Angeles, California after I graduate from IUPUI in December 2007. I would like to change the stereotypical roles and negative images that African Americans see themselves portrayed as in film. My role models are my mother Linda, Tyler Perry, Debbie Allen, and Oprah Winfrey.
Janine Mullins (Candidate) - I am a junior in Communication Studies with an interest in media and its effects on language and culture. I am a Service Learning Assistant with To Mexico with Love study abroad program on campus. I am vice president of Membership with Circle K Int'l at IUPUI.
