Blindness is one of the most feared conditions and has a major impact on quality of life. Better understanding of blinding eye diseases is needed to improve treatment and find cures. To improve knowledge of eye diseases such as glaucoma and cataract, the Center is assisting in clinical studies to identify and analyze specific protein and metabolite biomarkers from the eye fluid of patients undergoing eye surgery. These biomarkers will lead to better understanding of what goes wrong in these eye diseases.
