Waves of Fortune – China’s Maritime Silk Road

Join anthropologist Ian McIntosh of IUPUI’s Office of International Affairs as he takes viewers on a fascinating trip to some of the key historical sites along the Maritime Silk Road, where he reveals links between the past and the present. Throughout its long history, China has alternately opened its borders and walled itself off from the outside world. Ports in southern China anchored the Maritime Silk Road as it became a melting pot of cultures, religions, and exotic goods.

Waves of Fortune: China’s Maritime Silk Road will air on WFYI 1 on Thursday, October 12 at 7:30pm, with production by Sandy Roob, videography and editing by Vinnie Manganello, and logistical planning and translation by Dr. Zao Cheng Xu.
