Ambassador Zhou of China Visits Indianapolis

The Ambassador of China to the United States, Mr. Wenzhong Zhou, visited Indianapolis and gave a speech on Sino-American relationship on Feb. 22 at the conference hall of University Place on IUPUI campus. The visit of Ambassador Zhou is co-sponsored by Kelly School of Business and Cummins Inc. President McRobbie of Indiana University attended the meeting.

The Director of Confucius Institute in Indianapolis, Zao C. Xu, was invited to the dinner on Feb. 21 in Eli Lilly and Company honoring Ambassador Zhou. Dr. Xu also attended the meeting and had conversations with Ambassador Zhou and Consul General Huang of Chicago on issues related to the Confucius Institute in Indianapolis. Susan Sutton, the Associate Vice President for International affairs also attended the meeting the the lunch after the event.

Ambassador Zhou of China Visits Indianapolis

Confucius Institute in Indianapolis participated the Chinese New Year celebration party organized by the IUPUI Chinese School and Indianapolis Chinese Performing Arts in the evening of Feb. 2. Amy Warner, the Vice Chancellor for External Affairs gave an opening speech. David Ford, the Associate Dean of SLR was also in the party. Dinah Zhang and Fang Jiang, the instructors from SYSU, performed a duet at the party. Many faculty, staff and students were in the party and had a good time.
