2007年台灣獎學金、華語文獎學金開始受理報名
歡迎優秀美籍學生向駐芝文化組提出申請
為鼓勵具潛力之優秀外國學生赴台就讀，增進彼等對我語言文化及風土民情之暸解，同時深化台灣與國際社會之教育文化交流，教育部除提供「華語文獎學金」吸引外籍優秀學生至台灣研習華語外，並設置「台灣獎學金」提供取得學位的機會。
「台灣獎學金」包括大學獎學金(每人每月新台幣二萬五千元，為期四年)、碩士獎學金(每人每月新台幣三萬元，為期二年)及博士獎學金(每人每月新台幣三萬元，為期三年)，教育部同時提供受獎人每人每月新台幣二萬五千元，可於台灣各大專校院附設華語文教學機構(國語中心)先修語文一年，再就讀學位課程。
「華語文獎學金」則提供每人每月新台幣二萬五千元之獎學金，惟受獎期限最長僅得一年。
這兩項獎學金之申請資格如下：一、學業成績優良，品性端正者。二、未具僑民身份，不具中華民國國籍。三、未受領中華民國政府機構、學校等設置之獎學金者。四、非各大學校院之交換學生。五、未曾受註銷本獎學金受獎資格者。六、未曾受領本獎學金之同一類獎學金者。七、未受領本獎學金總合期限逹五年者。八、非已在台就讀之自費留學生。
申請日期自即日起至三月三十一日止。申請文件包括：一、獎學金申請表；二、最高學歷證明及成績單正本；三、已向我大學校院或國語中心申請入學之證明；四、赴台學習計畫；五、推薦信兩封；六、美國護照影本。

Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration (中秋夜團圓)

Mid-autumn festival (Moon Festival) is considered to be one of the most important festivals in traditional Chinese holidays. "When the moon is full, mankind is one" -- In Chinese Culture, full moon represents gatherings of friends and family. Thus, Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for family reunions. On this night, families will go to scenic spots and parks together for moon appreciation parties.
Therefore, if you're a Chinese Culture lover, you shouldn't miss this important celebration. You will not only get a chance to learn the history and other interesting legend story of moon festival but also, we'll have BBQ, Karaoke, volleyball games, and other interesting contests. Of course, winners will receive great prizes from us. The Softball Game IS BACK!! (壘球比賽)

The softball game is good to go now and here is the info for the game. Also that will be better if you could get yourself a glove, but if you don't have one then use your hand. We may have four teams that day, IUPUI A, IUPUI B, Uncles and Purdue. One hour for each game. Seven innings per game.
10 people per team. (Boys and girls should divide equally)
Bring yourself drinks, sun glasses, hat and baseball glove (if you have a glove).

Chinese Culture Club is hosting a welcoming party for the new comers this year, it starts from 11:30am on Sat, 8/26/06 at the Union Building Hoosire Room. As usual, there will be free food and free drink for you to enjoy, and hopefully you will meet some new friends through our program.
Also, once you participate in our program, you will get a chance to win great prizes. By the way, for the old members it's time to renew your annual membership ($10), new friends are also welcome to enroll our membership. We sincerely invite you to join our event as a great start for the semester.
