BME Club Information

I learned about the BME Club last semester when I did a service project for a scholarship and talked to Eddie about the club. I decided to come to a meeting and I believe that the club is an excellent opportunity for students to get involved and to better understand what BME is as a whole.

Why are you running for this position?

I was nominated for this position, but on top of that I believe that I can fulfill the duties of being president to the members and to the club in general. I feel that the leadership that has been shown by Eddie and the rest of the officers needs to be continued and I feel that I can do that and possibly find different strategies and ideas that may make the club better. I enjoy being a leader and I do it fairly well for the most part. I like working with others and I believe whole-heartedly that the best answer comes from groups and not just a single individual so, If elected, I will definitely include as many people as possible for new ideas, service projects, and guest speakers as well.

If elected, what goals would you strive to achieve to better the club? How would you accomplish these goals?

I would like to be able to advertise the club more because, currently, I don’t believe that a lot of people know about it. I would also like to give “Biomedical Engineering” a more simplistic meaning so that everyone knows what we are and how we work. This may also spark their interest in this program as well. I feel that getting the group together for social and charitable events is a BIG part of being a “club-member.” I would like everyone to feel like they are friends and not just acquaintances in this group of people. I also feel that it is necessary for the group as a whole to strive to help one another whether it be in school or personal problems.

Why do you think you are the best candidate for this position?

I do believe that I am one of the best for this position for many reasons. I feel that leading this group should be something taken seriously, but having fun should be encouraged as well. I know that I can accomplish this. I will continue to advertise the club in order to make students more interested. I am a freshmen currently, so I will encourage freshmen to not be afraid to join clubs like this because there will be other people their age in that club as well. I plan on getting the group together as much as possible because I feel it will help all of us to become better friends and help us to take care of the responsibilities of the club more efficiently and effectively. Most of all I will organize activities that are fun for us and will help out the community as well. Thanks everyone for considering me for president!
