April is when IUPUI observes Asian Heritage Month (AHM) to accommodate student life even though nationally it is viewed on May. However, this time frame is the busiest time for our group. Every April the ASU and our partners put together campus wide events for all to attend. Events that we do and previously have done are: AHM Kick Off Celebrations, Fashion Shows, Entertainment/Comedy Nights, Cultural Workshops, and group potluck/pitchins. In the April of 2012 our group started IUPUI's first heritage dinner for IUPUI's APA community.

Asian Heritage Celebration Dinner
In the Spring of 2012 the ASU along with our partners collaborated together to put together IUPUI's first Asian Heritage Dinner (AHD) later rebranded as the Asian Heritage Celebration Dinner (AHCD). The mission behind the dinner was to build awareness of Indiana's APA community and to strengthen community partnerships by introducing the year's theme of "United to Move Forward". The dinner featured keynote speaker Dr. Ellen Wu, Assistant Professor of History and American Studies Programs at Indiana University, Bloomington.
Annual Fashion Show
In April of 2008 our group started a tradition of having a yearly fashion show event during AHM. Our fashion show is IUPUI's longest running consecutive fashion show. Over the years the program has grown tremendously thanks to increased partnerships with organizations such as the Filipino Student Association (FSA) and funding from the Multicultural Success Center (MSC) and Asian Pacific American Faculty & Staff Council. We hope for increased support from the campus community in keeping the event running for many years to come.
Our group enjoys entertainment! In 2010 we brought in Comedy Central's very own Chinese-American Comedian Eliot Chang to IUPUI. In 2011 we did it again by bringing in former Mad TV Korean-American actor/comedian Danny Cho. Each of these free Comedy Nights featured post-show workshops revolving around similar themes such as Asians in the entertainment industry. Even though it is not an annual event, we hope to in the future to work with other student organizations to put together a collaboration entertainment night.
