Book Club!

Our next Adult (non-YA) Book Group meeting is scheduled for Friday, March 30th. We’re reading A Visit From the Good Squad by Jennifer Eagan. Winner of the 2011 Pulitzer Prize!

As always, we will be meeting at the Cornerstone Coffee House (54th and College). We are always interested in seeing new faces. If you have questions or would like more information, please email Jared at jarharmo@umail.iu.edu or check out our Goodreads page.

Book Club February 24th!

Our next Adult (non-YA) Book Group meeting is scheduled for Friday, February 24th, 2011. We had low attendance at the last meeting due to the weather (probably a good thing considering how bad it got), so the Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay is getting a second chance (so you didn’t read/think about reading/procrastinate reading it in vain). As always, we will be meeting at the Cornerstone Coffee House (54th and College). ANYONE IS WELCOME. We are always interested in seeing new faces. If you have questions or would like more information, please email Jared at jarharmo@umail.iu.edu or check out our Goodreads page.

Beta Phi Mu/ALISS Career Forum

Looking for a job or getting ready to? Wondering if your resume is up to par or just need a little help coming up with that perfect hook for your cover letter? ALISS and Beta Phi Mu are co-sponsoring a Career Forum for all SLIS students on Saturday, January 28th from 9am – 1pm.

Leaders in the fields of academic, public, school and special libraries will participate in a moderated panel discussion about applying for and receiving jobs in the field of library science. Afterwards, students can break into groups with panel members to have their resumes critiqued, perform mock interviews and have their pictures taken for online portfolios.  Finally, participants will rejoin fellow students to eat a lunch provided by ALISS and Beta Phi Mu. All students who register will receive one sheet of free business cards for networking purposes and be emailed a copy of the template so they can create more for themselves.

To register, please send the following information to aliss1@iupui.edu:

Name
