Feature article: Getting Young Scientists into the Science Teacher Pipeline

Noyce Internship Program aims to engage STEM students in educationally purposeful activities that allow them the opportunity to early examine their interest in and disposition for teaching science in middle or high schools. Noyce Interns receive $3,600 stipends for working full-time in eight-week summer internship positions in Indianapolis and local communities. There will be 8 Interns selected for summer 2011.

Duration: 8 weeks between May 9 and August 5, 2011

Application Deadline: March 11, 2011 EXTENDED!!

Applicant's Eligibility: Completing freshman or sophomore level science major required courses in Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Physics, Computer Science, Informatics, Mathematics, Technology or Engineering. Completed applications from students with less than 60 credits and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 will be considered.

Interview: March 14 through 25

Decision: Internship placement by April 11

Orientation: Late April 2011

Intern's Fulltime Employment: Eight continuous weeks. Internship duration may vary by positions.

Stipend: $3,600 for 8 weeks of working full-time (35-40 hours per week)
