Cheerleaders : IUPUI Fall 2009 Cheerleading Tryouts

Tryouts to become a Jaguar Cheerleader will be held on Sunday, September 13 at 3pm in the Main Gym of the Natatorium, 901 West New York St.

All applicants must be registered students or have been accepted to IUPUI and need to bring a copy of their schedule or other proof of enrollment. Letters of recommendation would be advised.

Applications, 2 copies of insurance cards, and official class schedule or a letter of acceptance MUST be turned in at tryouts. We will not have access to a copier. You will not be eligible to try out without this information.

Cheerleaders must attend all home men and women's basketball games, as well as other campus and community events. Practices are held on Sundays, from 3:00-6:00 PM, and Tuesdays from 7:00-10:00 PM in the Auxiliary Gym, Natatorium.

Clothing for Cheer Tryouts

• Female students need to wear black shorts, black sports bra or tank top, ponytail or sides up with a white ribbon, athletic shoes, white socks.
• Male students need to wear black shorts, white or IUPUI T-shirt, athletic shoes, white socks.

Absolutely NO jewelry of any kind (this includes all types of earrings - nose, tongue, belly, etc.).

Cheer Tryouts

You will be judged on spirit, appearance, jumps, a taught cheer and chant, a taught dance, fight song and tumbling skills (standing back handspring and a tumbling pass are preferred). Stunting skills may also be judged.

*PLEASE: Bring completed forms along with two copies of your current insurance card to tryouts.
