David K. Rubins
David K. Rubins (1902-1985), artist and educator, came to the IU Herron School of Art in 1935. He taught and directed the sculpture program for 45 years. His works include the statue of Abraham Lincoln at the Indiana State Office Complex, the Lilly Monument at Crown Hill Cemetery, the ornamental work at the federal courthouse, bust of Dean John Van Nuys at the IU School of Medicine, statue entitled 'Stumbling Man' at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, and the cherub that adorned the clock on the downtown Ayres Building every Christmas which is now in the Indiana State Museum.
