IUPUI is Indiana's premier urban research university. The campus enrolls more than 30,000 students in 21 schools and academic units.

The move from the former Herron School of Art site on 16th Street to the IUPUI campus hasn't changed the role of the award-winning Herron Gallery: it still ranks among Indiana's finest artistic venues.
But the gallery's new home in Eskenazi Hall has brought some much-anticipated changes: more space - including the Eleanor Prest Reese and Robert B. Berkshire Galleries, as well as the Marsh Special Projects Gallery.
Herron Gallery has become the heart of the visual arts at IUPUI, the "leading edge" of arts and culture on the campus. In just a few short months, the gallery has featured the work of Robert Rauschenberg, Darryl Pottorf and Hoosier rock star John Mellencamp, carrying on the traditions of the gallery's 16th Street predecessor, which featured such notable artists as Deborah Butterfield, Robert Colescott, Linda McCartney and Oyvind Fahlstrom.
The Herron Gallery isn't just a campus art resource, however; it serves as a portal to IUPUI for Indianapolis art lovers, and as a community resource for students and working artists of all ages.
