Publicizing Your Event

Now that you've got approval for your event, you probably want to let people know about it. Following are some means of getting the word out around campus:

Inside IUPUI – An e-mail newsletter for IUPUI faculty and staff. This e-publication is distributed weekly on Thursdays to all subscribed faculty and staff. Story ideas can be submitted at www.iupui.edu/~iuihome/insider/submit/

Jag News – An e-mail newsletter for IUPUI students, but available to anyone who chooses to sign up. Recipients sign up to receive this publication. It is distributed bi-weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Event information may be submitted by IUPUI students, staff or faculty at www.iupui.edu/~iuihome/jagnews/submit/.

The Sagamore – The student newspaper of the IUPUI campus. It is published weekly and distributed on Wednesdays. Story ideas can be submitted to the paper's editors at http://www.sagamore.iupui.edu/sagamore/.

Various School Publications – Several schools have their own internal newsletters. If your event may be of interest to a particular school you may want to contact their public relations staff to determine what publicity options they may have.

Use of the IUPUI Logos – Event Planners are encouraged to use the IUPUI logo in their event promotions. Information about our logos, wordmarks and colors can be found at http://ocm.iupui.edu/logo/.
