IUPUI begins new partnership with the United Way to mentor IPS children
IUPUI is looking for volunteers to help the United Way and their new Read Up initiative make a difference with IPS children this school year. We are looking for volunteers to mentor a 4th grader once a week for an hour during school. Volunteers will be reading with the child. Volunteers can sign up to mentor once a week, or find a partner and mentor every other week throughout the school year. About 30% of all IPS 4th graders are reading two or more grades below their current level, help IUPUI and the United Way change that one child at a time. If you are interested please contact Marty Posch at 278-8573 or mposch@iupui.edu.
For more information on the program you can go to www.readupindy.org but please contact Marty Posch to volunteer (do not do it through the read up website).
